Background\nMeeting Targets and Maintaining Epidemic Control (EpiC) is a global project funded by the U.S.\nPresident’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) and the U.S. Department of State (DOS).\nThe project provides strategic technical assistance and direct service delivery to achieve HIV\nepidemic control among at-risk populations, strengthen global health security, expand tuberculosis\ndetection and treatment, improve maternal and child health, address malaria, and promote health\nsystems strengthening.\nIn Cameroon, the EpiC project supports the continuation and expansion of life-saving HIV\nprevention, treatment, care, and support services, building on previous PEPFAR-funded initiatives.\nThe program focuses on strengthening community-led platforms and integrating them with facilitybased systems to increase access to quality HIV-related services, with particular emphasis on\nachieving the first 95 of the UNAIDS targets while sustaining progress toward the second and third\n95.\nFamily World International (FAWOI) is a civil society organization committed to fostering\nautonomous and sustainable communities through capacity building, skills development, and\nstrategic partnerships. FAWOI works across five thematic areas: Health, Education, Protection,\nEconomic Empowerment, and Development, with a strong focus on women’s and girls’ wellbeing.\nFAWOI will implement the FHI360-led EpiC Cameroon project in the Southwest Region,\nspecifically in the health districts of Muyuka, Kumba North, Mamfe, Tombel, and Bangem.\n2. Position Summary\nFAWOI is seeking a qualified and experienced Project Coordinator \u002F Project Manager to lead the\nprogrammatic implementation of the EpiC Cameroon project at the community-based organization\n(CBO) level.\nThe Project Coordinator will provide overall leadership, coordination, and management of project\nactivities, ensuring alignment with donor requirements, government policies, and organizational\n\nstrategies. The position requires close collaboration with government partners, technical teams, and\nstakeholders to ensure high-quality implementation and achievement of project results.\n3. Key Responsibilities\nThe Project Coordinator will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:\n• Provide overall leadership and management to ensure coherent project direction and effective\nimplementation.\n• Build the technical and managerial capacities of project staff through mentorship, coaching,\nand performance management.\n• Coordinate with operations, finance, and M&E teams to ensure compliance with donor\nregulations, effective budget management, knowledge management, and risk mitigation.\n• Support technical and M&E staff to document, analyze, and disseminate lessons learned and\nbest practices.\n• Ensure routine field monitoring visits to assess quality, progress, and adherence to project\nplans.\n• Collaborate with the Finance Unit to ensure staff understand financial and administrative\nprocedures related to project budgeting and reporting.\n• Represent FAWOI professionally with government partners, implementing partners, donors,\nand other stakeholders at the regional level.\n• Support the Executive Director in stakeholder engagement, advocacy actions, and official\nvisits.\n• Foster a results-oriented supervisory environment that promotes accountability, learning,\nproductivity, and transparency.\n• Contribute to the preparation of monthly and quarterly work plans, performance monitoring\nplans, and narrative reports.\n• Perform any other related duties necessary for achieving the overall goals of the EpiC project,\nas assigned.\n4. Required Qualifications, Skills, and Experience\nEducation\n• Master’s degree or international equivalent in Public Health, Epidemiology, or a related field.\n• Project Management certification is an added advantage.\nExperience\n• Minimum of five (5) years of relevant professional experience, with at least three (3) years in\na similar managerial role.\n• Prior experience working with PEPFAR-funded projects is strongly preferred.\n• Experience working with Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) or Community-Based\nOrganizations (CBOs).\n• Demonstrated experience managing multi-sector public health projects.\n• Experience operating in insecure or humanitarian settings is an asset.\nSkills and Competencies\n• Strong project planning, coordination, and implementation skills.\n• Excellent report writing, analytical, and communication skills.\n• Fluency in English and French is preferred.\n• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).\n• Ability to travel regularly within the Southwest Region.\n• Cultural sensitivity and strong understanding of the Cameroonian public health and\nsociopolitical context.\n• Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.\n5.
